HOYA Vision Care has announced the launch of its Sensei Innovation Events, an educational series designed to bring eye care professionals together for peer-to-peer learning, clinical education, and collaboration across the United States and Canada.

The company says this initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting independent eye care professionals through education, innovation, and practice development. Two events have already been held in the United States and another in Canada. More events will be held in key customer markets throughout North America.

Education and Collaboration

HOYA says the Sensei Innovation Events are intended to create opportunities for meaningful dialogue among practitioners while reinforcing the company’s focus on clinical excellence and business success.

The events will include expert panel discussions, hands-on demonstrations of HOYA technologies, product education, and Continuing Optometric Practitioner Education (COPE)-certified presentations. According to the company, attendees will receive practical insights and educational resources to support patient care and practice growth.

“HOYA’s mission to improve life through vision is realized through strong partnerships with independent eye care professionals who are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient outcomes,” says Steven Haifawi, senior vice president, U.S. commercial, HOYA Vision Care. “For decades, HOYA has worked alongside ECPs as a trusted partner, helping practices grow through innovation, education, and clinical excellence.”

Teachers and Mentors

HOYA, a global technology and med-tech company and supplier of high-tech and medical products, says the series is rooted in the company’s more than 80-year history as well as its Japanese heritage. The name “Sensei,” a Japanese term meaning “teacher” or “mentor,” was chosen to honor eye care professionals who share their expertise and help advance the profession through education and innovation.

Haifawi says these events bringing together experts, thought leaders, and practitioners “to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and advance the future of vision care. Together, we succeed in an increasingly dynamic marketplace.”

HOYA says the initiative reflects its broader strategy of strengthening relationships with independent eye care professionals while providing ongoing access to education, product training, and collaborative learning opportunities throughout North America.
