Zeiss Vision Care introduced the new Zeiss ClearMind prescription lens portfolio, designed to provide clear vision throughout the day while supporting wearer comfort and well-being. The lenses will be available in the United States beginning in April 2026.
According to Zeiss, the ClearMind portfolio was developed in response to increasing visual demands in modern environments, where wearers frequently process large amounts of visual information. Blurred vision increases the difficulty of interpreting complex visual stimuli, thus affecting cognitive load. ClearMind lenses are designed to address this by providing clear vision to help reduce fatigue, maintain focus, and support sustained concentration during daily tasks.
Cognitive Load and Vision Clarity
Research conducted at the Zeiss Vision Science Lab in Germany indicates that lens blur objectively affects perceived cognitive load compared to a standard Zeiss lens. In another study, ClearMind wearers reported improvements in focus and ability to concentrate. Eight out of 10 participants reported the lenses contributed positively to their overall sense of well-being.
NeurOptix Technology
The ClearMind portfolio incorporates the company’s NeurOptix technology, which is designed to reducee and optimize lens blur by shifting blur zones into areas of the lens that are less visually disruptive.
For ClearMind progressive lenses, Zeiss says the technology creates up to 45% larger zones of clear vision for near viewing and up to 26% larger zones for intermediate viewing compared to Zeiss SmartLife progressive lenses. In a survey of ClearMind wearers, 88% said they adapted to the lenses within a few days, with 51% adapted within one hour.
Lens Portfolio
Zeiss ClearMind lenses will be offered across multiple focal types, including single vision, progressive, and anti-fatigue lenses. The portfolio includes options designed to accommodate age-related visual behavior and personalized visual needs.
“We are proud to launch the Zeiss ClearMind lens portfolio, designed with advanced technology to deliver exceptional clarity and provide all-day comfort—supporting the overall well-being of patients,” says Gary Rosenblum, Zeiss Vision Care US president and CEO. “A first-of-its-kind, this launch represents another key milestone in global lens innovation and is a testament to Zeiss’ commitment as a partner in delivering lifelong visual health solutions to our patients and customers.”
