IOT, in collaboration with independent ophthalmic lens manufacturer Younger Optics, introduced CamberPure, a new premium progressive lens. CamberPure is designed to deliver consistent optical clarity across multiple lens materials. The product will make its official debut at Vision Expo, where eye care professionals can learn more about the technology and its applications.
According to IOT, the lens delivers clarity regardless of prescription, frame selection, or lens material. CamberPure will be available in a range of lens materials, including hard resin, Trilogy/Trivex, polycarbonate, 1.60 MR-8, 1.67 MR-10, and high-index 1.74. The lenses will also be offered in multiple configurations, including clear, UV420, photochromic, and polarized options.
Chromatic Aberration Reduction
CamberPure incorporates Chromatic Aberration Reduction Technology (CART), which minimizes chromatic aberration, a source peripheral blur and color distortion in low-Abbe materials such as polycarbonate. CART compensates for thousands of peripheral points across the lens and is intended to improve clarity and contrast in thin, lightweight lens materials.
Camber Technology Integration
CamberPure also integrates Camber variable base curve technology along with a power-optimization methodology. This is designed to support smooth visual transitions, binocular balance, and wide, natural near-vision zones for progressive lens wearers. The combined technologies are intended to deliver wider near-vision zones, sharper visual edges, and more natural transitions between viewing distances. According to the companies, this produces sharper edges, truer color perception, reduced visual fatigue, and comfortable adaptation.
