CooperVision Specialty EyeCare is expanding its Beyond the Limbus (BTL) education series with new interactive workshops and practice development events aimed at advancing scleral lens expertise among eye care professionals.
According to CooperVision, the series delivers immersive, hands-on training in real-world scleral lens fitting, troubleshooting, and patient management using the company’s scleral lens portfolio. Workshop content topics include design selection, fitting assessment, and on-eye evaluation with tools like slit lamps and OCT. The aim of this education series is to build confidence in managing a broad range of ocular conditions.
Scleral Strides’ Multifaceted Format
A key component of the series is the Scleral Strides program, which offers a two-part program for clinical skill development. Participants attend a dinner workshop presented by peer faculty that reviews scleral fitting fundamentals. The workshop is followed by a separate in-office training day featuring live patient fittings led by a CooperVision Specialty EyeCare expert consultant, tailored from foundational to advanced troubleshooting needs.
Registration for a Scleral Strides program in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Jan. 14, 2026 is now available.
Full-Day Workshops and Beyond
In addition to Scleral Strides, CooperVision continues to provide hands-on workshops and virtual or on-demand education options to accommodate different experience levels. Dates and locations for in-person, full-day workshops in 2026 include:
- Jan. 25 in St. Louis, Mo.
- Feb. 1 in Columbus, Ohio
- Feb. 22 in Carlsbad, Calif.
- March 29 in Provo, Utah.
CooperVision plans to announce additional dates and locations for the series in early 2026. The series began in November 2025 and runs through March 2026.
Also, the BTL training program is offered via personalized virtual or on-demand training. Virtual training covers anything from basic, introductory scleral lens training to advanced troubleshooting skills and design enhancements, designed to fit any schedule.
Supporting Eye Care Practices
Beyond clinical content, the program incorporates practice development elements, including practice management and marketing materials supplied to participating offices. “Through the Beyond the Limbus and Scleral Strides programs, we are meeting practitioners where they are in their journey and equipping them with the hands-on experience, peer connection, and real-world strategies needed to deliver exceptional outcomes,” said Marie-Christine Blanchard, U.S. Marketing Lead for Specialty Lenses, CooperVision Specialty EyeCare.
