EssilorLuxottica has expanded its Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses portfolio with the introduction of new optical-first styles designed specifically for prescription wearers. The new lineup includes Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics (Gen 2) and Scriber Optics (Gen 2), both designed with improved comfort and customization.
The launch builds on a multi-year partnership that has introduced multiple smart eyewear categories, including performance-focused Oakley Meta HSTN and Oakley Meta Vanguard as well as Ray-Ban Meta in-lens display smart glasses.
New Optical Styles
Blayzer Optics and Scriber Optics feature a slimmer profile and allow for enhancements such as interchangeable nose pads and adjustable temple tips. Overextension hinges provide flexibility to match the wearer’s head. The Ray-Ban Meta portfolio can be paired with single-vision, progressive, or Transitions lenses.
Complementing the new styles are seasonal colors, including Shiny Transparent Grey (Wayfarer), Shiny Transparent Peach (Skyler), and Matte Transparent Peach (Headliner).
Tech Features
A dedicated action button on the frame enables single-press access to Meta AI, allowing users to activate features such as voice assistance, content capture, and personalized shortcuts.
Across the AI smart glasses portfolio, capabilities include Meta AI, hands-free calls and messaging, real-time translation, music streaming, and photo and video capture using a 12 MP camera with 3K video recording. A six-microphone system supports clear audio and voice interactions.
Availability and Pricing
Pre-orders for the new Ray-Ban Meta optical styles began March 31 in the United States with retail availability starting April 14 across Ray-Ban stores, select EssilorLuxottica retail locations, and Meta’s online platforms. The collection will also expand into additional global markets later this year. Suggested entry pricing for Blayzer Optics and Scriber Optics is $499.
“By pioneering AI glasses specially engineered for prescription wearers, adding Meta’s AI enhancements and expanding distribution, we are taking a significant leap forward, bringing the industry and millions of new consumers with us,” say EssilorLuxottica Chairman and CEO Francesco Milleri and Deputy CEO Paul du Saillant.
