MyEyeDr. has entered into an agreement with EyeCare Partners to acquire its optometry division, a transaction that would add more than 300 offices across five eye care brands to the MyEyeDr. organization.
The companies expect the transaction to close in the fourth quarter of 2026 following receipt of required regulatory approvals.
MyEyeDr. says the acquisition will expand its ability to serve patients and communities, grow its position in optometry, and support continued investment in doctors, associates, and patient care.
Key Brands in the Transaction
Under the agreement, five key EyeCare Partners optometry brands will join MyEyeDr.’s existing portfolio of brands. This includes Clarkson Eyecare, EyeCare Associates, EyeCare Center, Nationwide Vision, and The Eye Doctors.
MyEyeDr. says combining the organizations will create opportunities to share best practices and provide additional growth opportunities across the larger organization. The company also pointed to the two organizations’ histories of providing personalized eye care through community-based doctors and eye care teams. MyEyeDr. says it plans to build on the existing strengths of the acquired practices while addressing the needs of their patients following the transaction.
Areas of Investment
In addition to expanding its reach, MyEyeDr. says the acquisition will support several of its long-term clinical priorities. The company is expanding its leadership in clinical research and growing its centers of excellence focused on common eye diseases. MyEyeDr. also says the larger organization will support efforts to expand optometric scope of practice nationwide and further MyEyeDr.’s efforts to make personalized vision care available to more patients.
