Eyedaptic has introduced EYE7 smart glasses alongside the Eyedaptic Visual Assistant Family. This new platform is designed to combine real-time vision enhancement with artificial intelligence (AI) visual assistance.
The company says this product targets the more than 400 million people globally affected by retinal diseases that cause vision loss. This integrated wearable solution is intended to help users better see, understand, and interact with their surroundings.
The platform is powered by Ivy, an interactive visual assistant, which is available at launch. In addition, the company is introducing Eva, a next-generation assistant, through an Early Access Beta Program.
Smart Features
According to Eyedaptic, the EYE7 smart glasses are designed to provide real-time visual enhancement thanks to several features:
- A lightweight, ergonomic design for daily use.
- Visual acuity and contrast enhancement optimized for individuals with vision impairments.
- Customizable visual modes with intuitive controls.

Visual Assistant
The Eyedaptic Visual Assistant Family adds AI-driven technology to the EYE7 platform. Ivy, the primary assistant available at launch, can read text and signage, identify objects, and provide visual interpretation. It also connects to web-based resources to deliver additional context and more detailed responses to user inquiries.
Meanwhile, Eva focuses on fast, real-time image recognition and conversational interactions. It also introduces hands-free, voice-driven controls, a foundation for future AI capabilities on the platform.
The AI visual assistants can be upgraded remotely through software updates, allowing new features and improvements to be delivered without new hardware.
Availability
The EYE7, Visual Assistant Ivy, and Visual Assistant Eva beta program are now available. Current practices and users can contact support@eyedaptic.com, and new eye care practices can inquire at info@eyedaptic.com or with their local sales representative.
“Developed in collaboration with users and clinicians, the EYE7 and the Visual Assistant Family reflect Eyedaptic’s commitment to continuous innovation, accessibility, and long-term independence for people with retina diseases by improving vision more than any currently available biological therapy,” says Mitul Mehta, MD, a retina specialist, chief medical officer and cofounder of Eyedaptic.
