Five U.S. and Canadian eye care professionals and teams were named 2025 Contact Lens Institute (CLI) Culture Award honorees. The awards recognized their exceptional efforts to create thriving contact lens cultures that elevate patient care and drive practice success.

The annual awards celebrate individuals and practices that demonstrate the principles highlighted in CLI’s See Tomorrow initiative, fostering clinical excellence, education, and innovation in everyday practice. They spotlight those who model best practices in patient engagement, staff empowerment, and sustainable business growth by making contact lenses a valued part of comprehensive vision care.

2025 Culture Award Honorees

  • Sheila Morrison, OD, FAAO, FSLS, FCCSO. Dr. Morrison, of Mission Eye Care in Calgary, Alberta, promotes a culture of continuous learning through weekly staff training sessions that focus on understanding the “why” behind contact lens care. Her team’s commitment to education translates into greater skill, confidence, and life-changing outcomes for patients.
  • Eye Designs Optometry & Visions Optometry team. This group of doctors in Sacramento, Calif., delivers personalized care through a philosophy of “saving eyes and sparking joy.” By tailoring contact lens selections to each patient’s lifestyle and visual needs, the team enhances both daily function and long-term satisfaction.
  • Joshua Olson, OD, MA.  Dr. Olson, of Colorado Eye Center/Sunrise Vision Care in Boulder, Colo., encourages his staff to consider every patient a potential lens wearer, increasing accessibility and awareness. His inclusive approach allows patients of all ages to experience visual freedom and confidence.
  • Scott Samples, FLCSA, NCLEM, CPOT.  Samples, of Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City, Okla., is known for his patient-centered care. He demonstrates how contact lenses can restore independence and transform lives, inspiring peers with stories of patients seeing loved ones clearly for the first time.
  • Susanna Tamkins, OD. Dr. Tamkins, of Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Miami, Fla., is dedicated to pediatric vision care. She fits infants and children with contact lenses that restore sight after surgery and promotes healthy visual development.
