Advancing Vision Care for Patients

In vision care, ZEISS has marked several notable achievements:

  • In 2018, ZEISS Vision became the first to apply sunglass-level UV protection to clear eyeglass lenses, blocking UV rays before they reach the eye.
  • The company introduced ZEISS DuraVision Gold UV, a premium AR coating designed to enhance durability, clarity, and cleanability while offering a distinctive gold aesthetic.
  • ZEISS eyeglass lenses now span single-vision, progressive, photochromic, and sun solutions.

Shaping Space, Science, and Storytelling

Over the last 100 years, the company has brought impressive innovations to many other areas, including research, healthcare, and manufacturing. Some of the highlights include:

  • Space exploration, from the first images of Earth from the moon to development of the Mars rover.
  • Winning multiple technical Oscar awards for lens technology enriching the art of filmmaking, and enabling new, creative ways to tell stories through images.
  • Empowering new methods of scientific research and discovery, from lighting up tissue with fluorescent technology to creating 3D movies of live cells.
