HEAD and CHARMANT USA announced that HEAD optical frames and sunglasses are set to debut in January 2026. The launch is the result of a recently announced exclusive global-licensing partnership. CHARMANT will handle the design, development, and worldwide distribution for HEAD, a global premium sports equipment and apparel brand.
Two Global Leaders
CHARMANT was founded in the 1950s in Japan, followed by the establishment of CHARMANT USA in 1982. The company creates and distributes eyewear for its own brands as well as a range of fashion labels, including Minamoto, Aristar, Elle, Isaac Mizrahi New York, Eddie Bauer, and Esprit. The company has also developed a proprietary titanium material and production techniques.
HEAD’s sports equipment and apparel business includes products for winter sports, racquet sports, and diving, with brands such as Penn, Tyrolia and Mares. In addition, the company partners with high-performance alpine sports and tennis athletes around the worlds.
Collaboration Built on Shared Values
According to Koji Horikawa, president and CEO of CHARMANT, the partnership unites two companies with shared core values for passion for innovation, craftsmanship, and high quality.
“The collection of HEAD, as a prestigious and iconic sports brand, complements our portfolio and is a winning enhancement of our eyewear product range,” says Horikawa.
Michael Huber, vice president licensing at HEAD, says he is happy to partner with CHARMANT primarily due to its reputation in the eyewear industry. “We share the same philosophy and high standards when it comes to design, functionality, innovation, and performance. Throughout our discussions, we have come to appreciate each other, especially through our shared passion for sports. This collaboration brings together the best of both worlds. We are confident that this new range of HEAD eyewear will meet the high expectations of athletes and fashion-conscious consumers alike. We look forward to seeing the collection come to life and expanding its reach globally.”
