Toulch Rimless (formerly known as QED) introduces the Phi by Toulch Rimless collection. The first in a series of rimless eyewear concepts built on a fundamentally new mounting architecture, these frames were designed with minimalist purity to simplify and speed up assembly while also enhancing durability.

Minimalist Mechanics

The new Phi by Toulch Rimless collection’s distinctive drill geometry is reminiscent of the Greek letter Phi, which represents minimalism and is at the heart of each frame’s mechanics. Each style’s bridge and end pieces are built from a single layer of laser-cut sheet metal, giving Phi frames clean lines and a unique look and feel.

The Phi collection has already earned industry recognition and received the Silmo d’Or Award for Technological Innovation in Eyewear in 2025. This award celebrates technical advancement and relevance within the eyewear industry.

About Toulch Rimless

Toulch Rimless is an independent eyewear brand that set out to rethink rimless from the ground up. Founded and invented by ODs and opticians from Harry Toulch Optometrists, a third-generation practice located in Montreal, Canada, Toulch frames feature a unique mounting system. This patented system eliminates the need for certain components such as nuts, washers, bushings, and other small disposable parts. These parts are replaced by a reusable precision set screw, which removes the need for filing, glueing, cutting, and trimming. The frames take seconds to assemble, according to Toulch, saving time on after-sales servicing and maintenance.

“Our objective was to develop a mounting system that is quick and easy to assemble or disassemble and technically enhances rimless,” say the founders, “for both the professional who dispenses it and the wearer who experiences it.”

Toulch Rimless made its official U.S. debut at EYECON in March 2026, where it was introduced to opticians, American retailers, and industry professionals for the first time.
